WineWave - ebonized (black) oak
Handmade, solid wood WineWaves to showcase your most cherished bottles.
Here is a modern twist to my classic wooden WineWaves. Made of solid red or white oak, the ebonized WineWave has been stained black and is finished with satin hardwax oil for a light sheen. Stain is very different from paint in that you can see the wood grain in the finished piece. These variations highlight the natural differences when using solid wood.
When making my ebonized oak WineWaves I use both red and white oak. They look quite similar when finished and their open-grained structure is shown off nicely by the black stain. Having a variety of colors, grains and textures in one finished piece shows the natural variations of the tree the Wave was made from.
Every ebonized oak WineWave will be distinctly different, and no two are ever the same.
WineWaves hold a maximum of eight to ten standard 750 ml wine bottles, however to best showcase the beautiful woodwork I recommend storing fewer bottles in the wave.
All WineWaves feature felt pads on the underside to prevent scratching of tables and countertops.
WineWaves are the perfect gift for the wine (or whiskey, gin, rum, vodka, moonshine, etc.) lover in your life. An important note regarding the natural variations of real wood:
All WineWaves are individual pieces made from real hardwood and as such will vary in color and grain picture. No two are perfectly identical, each is unique. The WineWave you receive will be the species and finish you order but it will look slightly different from the sample images shown here.
I also make WineWaves in other wood species including sapele, white and red oak, cherry, walnut and possibly other species in the future. And for the classic boat lover the combination of dark brown sapele with light colored maple inlay strips, reminiscent of beautiful wooden boats made be Riva, Chris Craft and others.
